Abstract

This artificial collection consists of 18th century prints that have been mounted on paper. The prints depict images of writers, and actors and actresses, many in costume, including David Garrick, Mrs. Jordan, Charles Bannister, Mrs. Woffington, Mrs. Oldfield, Nancy Dawson, Mrs. Clive, Nell Gwynn, Sarah Siddons, Richard Burbadge, and Samuel Johnson; London theaters, including the Globe and the Drury Lane; and scenes from plays.

19th century California newspapers

Abstract

A collection of single issues of newspapers from across California, including from San Francisco, Sacramento, Siskiyou, and Oakland. The collection also includes a few newspapers from Boston, New York, and Newport, Rhode Island. The issue of the New York Herald in the collection from April 15, 1865 announces Abraham Lincoln's death on the day that he died.

19th century cowgirl and cowboy postcards

Scope and Contents Six embossed chromolithograph postcards depicting cowgirls on horseback firing guns, lassoing, and galloping. One of the six postcards depicts a cowboy with a lasso. The postcards are vibrantly colored and show a cowgirl with long hair and a skirt, donning bandoliers, rifles, and pistols. Wild horses and cattle are featured in the background. Abstract This collection consists of documents from the 299th Infantry Division of the German Wehrmacht. The 299th Infantry Division was formed in February 1940 as part of the 8th Wave. Its fought primarily in France from 1940 to 1941 and then moved to the Eastern Front, where it was destroyed in July 1944 and was disbanded April 1945.
